The biggest update since launch. v1.0 replaces estimated data with real-time information using MCP (Model Context Protocol).
What MCP changes: Instead of AI estimating costs and availability, v1.0 connects directly to live data sources at the moment your guide is generated. Real fuel prices. Actual toll costs. Live restaurant data. Nothing approximated.
New in v1.0
- Real-time fuel prices per country at generation time
- Real toll costs — actual plaza-level data per route
- Restaurant recommendations via TripAdvisor and similar APIs — matched to dietary preference (vegan, halal, vegetarian, local, seafood, fast food, fine dining, family)
- Public transport mode — plan by train, bus, and rideshare using live availability data (MCP powered)
- Border crossing information — linked to live camera feeds so you can check conditions before you leave
- Ferry preference controls — include all, avoid optional, mandatory only
After v1.0 ships, new features release on a rolling basis — one at a time as they’re ready.
- Stopover cities — add must-pass cities to your route
- RV and campervan mode
- Saved preferences — car, currency, and distance units remembered between sessions
- Trip history — access previously generated guides from your account
- Shareable guide links — share your route with travel companions
The next major milestone. Set a total trip budget and RouteMuse builds your guide around it.
Fuel, tolls, accommodation, and food all factor into a real cost calculation. Restaurant recommendations in budget mode factor in meal costs per person per city, matched to your dining preference. If a route genuinely cannot fit your budget, RouteMuse tells you — and suggests alternatives. A guide at this depth may require 2 credits to generate given the volume of real-time data involved.
Longer-term ideas on the list. No promises on timing.
- Travel resources hub — a dedicated section connecting guides to local laws, speed limits, vignette purchase links, and border information by country
- Collaborative trip planning — build and share a route with travel companions in real time
- Trip cost tracking — compare estimated vs actual costs after your trip
